Privacy Policy
What data I will collect and use
I, Louise Parker, do not collect, use or disseminate any personal information about you via this website.
Personal information is restricted to your mobile phone number and email address and only collected once a counselling, psychotherapy or coaching contract is entered into and is not held on this website; it is held securely using your initials only on my mobile phone and your email address is on my contacts list which is used solely to contact you. This same list is also held securely by my Supervisor.
I do not use my contact list for research, sale or advertising. This is regulated under the General Data Protection Regulation which applies across the European Union including the United Kingdom and we are responsible as ‘controller’ of that personal information.
Who I share your personal information with
I do not share your personal information with anyone.
I do not take notes during or after sessions unless I am seriously concerned about yours or another’s risk to life.
I adhere to a Code of Conduct and ethical requirement under the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists' (BACP) Ethical Framework; the limits to that confidentiality include my legal requirement to report to a relevant authority any current terrorist activity, money laundering, people trafficking, and child abuse (that cannot be resolved within the context of sessions).
I receive professional supervision from a qualified and experienced professional, accredited supervisor who is bound by the same code of ethics and conduct; the BACP.
How long do I keep your personal data
Once your sessions with me have ended, all your personal data is deleted.
Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have a number of important rights free of charge. In summary, those include rights to:

Require me to correct any mistakes in your information which I hold
Require the erasure of personal information concerning you in certain situations
Receive the personal information concerning you which you have provided to me, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit those data to a third party in certain situations
Object at any time to processing of personal information concerning you for direct marketing
Object in certain other situations to my continued processing of your personal information
Otherwise restrict my processing of your personal information in certain circumstances
For further information on each of those rights, including the circumstances in which they apply, see the Guidance from the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) on individuals’ rights under the General Data Protection Regulation.
Keeping your personal information secure
I have appropriate security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost, or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. I limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business need to know it which is only to relevant authorities and under legally required circumstances. Those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
I also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. I will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where I am legally required to do so.
